There seems to be a lot of fuss being raised over the incident in Louisiana where several black youths fought one white youth. Why is it that they were charged with attempted murder? Could it be that white people fear an imagined black tendency to fight as a group, that is, several black people against one white? There have certainly been images (real and scripted) of many blacks attacking one white. Are there images of the reverse? One magazine made the point that blacks are trying to make up for all the attacks they received at the hands of whites in the segregation days.
But is it even true that black people are more likely to "gang up" when they fight, be it against a white person or otherwise? Is this fair, or is there even such a thing as a "fair fight"? Do white people claim that blacks are too afraid to fight man to man?

In addition to the Jena 6, there was the Norfolk 7, which was 7 blacks attacking 1 white ( http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=133345&ran=82706&tref=po ). It happened maybe a month ago.

And there was the Halloween attack in Long Beach last year ( http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1742309/posts ).

However, such crimes are "hush crimes", so you're unlikely to hear about them unless you regularly visit http://www.stormfront.org/forum/forumdisplay.php/newslinks-articles-12.html.

To answer your question, while I don't believe statistics on such things are kept and I therefore don't have statistics to prove it, it seems likely it that blacks are more likely to attack as a pack. If you watch World (fill in the blank) Videos on CourtTV, it's pretty common for them to do that. Either that or attack weak victims, like beating up and robbing the elderly:

It's not fair for anyone to gang up on anyone. You bring up that in history that blacks have a tendency to fight as a group. Don't forget about those lynchings! That wasn't one white person against a black person. It was many white people against a black person. There is also no such thing as a "fair fight". Fights are not fair and if you get into one you never know what will happen. Stop making everything racial.

This goes both ways. I've seen gangs of white men beat up on one black man. I've seen gangs of black men beat up on one white man. Any way you look at this won't matter when it comes to hate. This is why we live divided as "people" and it should really just stop. I was jumped by 2 black men and they lost the fight. I just came out of the gym one day and they harassed me for some pocket change. I offered them to go get them a job and they thought I was being sarcastic about it. One of them took a swing and I broke his arm. The other tried to pull a knife on me and I took it from him. He ended up running away, he didn't look like much of a threat anyways. The point of this whole story is if your built like me (and I'm white) you would take care of business too, maybe school some of these so-called thugs how to kick ***. They go opposite direction now when they see me. End of story.

This is silly, since this incident was preceded by a white gang beating up a Black student. No group is more likely to engage in a cowardly fight, Blacks included.

I do think you are right about white fear of Black crime, which is probably why, no matter where in the justice system you look, you'll find much harsher sentences for people of color, especially African Americans.

No, black people usually fight one on one, but we mostly have our groups with us to feel safe in case someone tries to jump in, then it's war. But the thing is, black people seem to be fearless when we are angry, so we'll be willing to fight against any amount of people even if we're alone. The only ones who jump people are young people, grown men don't do that dumb stuff. It's the same as any other race, but I guess slavery made black people tough and strong, that's why most of us can fight good naturally.

Those people under me are racist, you can't just classify all blacks as gangs, we see every race jumping in fights and joining gangs so get that steryotype out of your head now. White America has no reason to complain after slavery.
White people see black people as evil, black people see white people as sneaky and evil, I just see atheist people embracing the devil's worldliness. The moment you realize how much the same we are, you'll see the problem.

I can't count how many times I'v been in a fight with a white dude and got jumped, even been jumped by racist white cops before and you don't see me blaming every white person. Don't worry, willie lynch's plan is working anyway, black people don't know how to stick together anymore.

The white government gives the black community crack, aids and, guns so we can kill each other off. It's no big secret, the government and the media turned us against God as well as against each other, that's why I wish I had lived in the 70's, people where smarter. It was people vs. the law, now it's people vs. people. The law wins!

Yes, it does seem that blacks tend to fight in groups and gang up on people more so than the whites. In the past, it was the opposite though. Finally the whites are getting the tables turned on them.

MOST people are more likely to fight as a group. Don't just make it a black thang. And don't compare all black folk with the jena six either.

No. Its a phenomenon that is NOT reserved for one race in particular. It is something that humans do in general.
There is a Sociological theory that could help explain "Mob" type behavior. Its called "Collective Behavior". Herbert Blumer & Neil Smelser are the main proponets of this theory. Its actually quite interesting. Perhaps if you weren't simply trying to insult black people by disguising your question, you'd actually open your mind to studying phenomena such as this. This also goes for the several racist answers from my white brethren, you embarrass me. You also wonder why black people think we are all racist. Stop perpetuating the stereotype.

I've seen white boys gang up and beat the crap out of one person. I've seen Chaldeans do it on numerous occasions. And I've seen black men do it too. It depends on the people you're dealing with. If you're dealing with men with brutish, thuggish mentalities, they get off on inflicting insanely brutal and unwarranted punishment. Men with more character will fight man to man or avoid confrontation altogether.
