Hi!

Honestly, having sex put me into labor with both of my kids but I had issues with my pregnancies not sure if made a difference or not!

Couldn't hurt to try :)

Also, walk a lot!!

It really just depends on your body, pregnancy, and what it is ready for in the end!

Yes sex can bring on labor. This is not proven, but there are two theories, the first is that sperm contains a natural protein or something that will activate the uterus to begin contractions, the second is that an orgasm can kick start the uterus. Other ways to bring labor on are: spicy foods, walking, castor oil (I personally don't advise this), nipple stimulation. The best way to move labor along faster once it has begun is walking in early labor ( Do Not have sex after your water has broken), and later in labor, keep yourself as calm and relaxed as possible, take a bath, practice breathing, etc. The more relaxed you are, the easier it is for your body to push the baby out. Good Luck, hope this helps.

I'm not sure but I've heard sex does help so when i was 2 days over we had sex and at 6 am that morning i went into labor!!
Keeping upright seemed to help move my labors along, with my 1st i was mainly on the bed and that was a 12 hour labor and my second i was up and moving and that was a 2 and half hour labor.

All of the above are true, but why are you trying to induce labor at 38 weeks? let the baby grow more.

Stimulating your nipples for 20 minutes at a time is the best thing you can do, it works better than all.

Sex does help progress you, but not "cause" labor. There are hormones in his sperm, and in your orgasm that cause contractions. The movement also can help move baby into position.

Walking, anything on your hands and knees, like mopping, squats, sitting on an exercise ball.

For me, pooping did it. I broke my water trying to poop.

Here a bunch of the supposed methods...

No matter what, please don't resort to castor oil, unless you like puking and diarrhea...and a risk of serious dehydration, not to mention the severe scolding you'd likely get from your doctor...and the fact that you probably won't even go into labour, so you did all that for nothing but a bit of self-imposed torture.

Also - you're only 38 weeks. While technically full term, your baby and your body may not be ready for action yet. Be patient...:) Good luck to you.
