a great thought my friend
u know there are times when i think the same but i came to only one decision that when the good will triumph over evil when each and every person of this planet will join hands regardless of their pity goals then we will be the one................
if that can happen this world would be the best to live in no hunger no poverty no dying due to lack of sources everyone smiling but i think it is still a far thing to achieve

unlikely.
first, a single system would foster a lot of corruption - the bigger the system, the more secrecy/opportunity, and the less outside obervation there would be. We would need a system of checks and balances that would effectively self-correct and self-strengthen so that every time people of influence find their way through one firewall another appears.

second, it would take a lot more agreement/cooperation/compromise/tolerance/respect than many people are now capable of. It is unfortunately more easy to motivate people by fear than by benevolence. Perhaps a common extraterrestrial enemy could unite us.

and third, despite a global government, there would still have to be local decision-making. Who is better equipped to fix potholes - a bureuacrat in Geneva/Singapore/Washington, or your local officials? When one looks at the British gov't's response to the Irish famine of 1845-1852, the distance between those dealing with the problem and those making the decisions created an extra and unneccessary complication that would have been avoided had even the Protestant-Irish Parliament in Dublin of the 1700s still existed (granted, there were other factors, but the distance I describe was certainly counterproductive).

(sorry for my stupid comment but I'm just only 14... hehe) I know. People think there are so many races. But there's just only one race, Human. I told my 8th Grade Science teacher about that and we're all the same race. So... your answer to your question is kinda reasonable. I kinda play Final Fantasy games, so it might be dumb. Think of it, we have a somewhat have a different, but yet a new race. Oh I don't know... like Newmans. So now, Newmans and Humans are going to fight each other for so long. Until one person steps up and says "We shall not fight any longer" Blah... Blah... I'm not good with Speeches so anyways. Then we will have peace for a while, but then we start hating each other again... and boy... it keeps going on and on. Sorry the stupid comment, but that's what I think of it. >_< Poor me... Well, see ya!

Never going to happen...
see, because of the different races, religions, and cultural backgrounds...we all have differnt ideals of how things should be, and how the world should work...this is why there are wars...because people are simply differnet and see things in different ways...and we dissagree...it will never happen...this isnt to say that we cant all get a long, and support eachother...as we should...but different countries will probably never come together to agree how to rule one society...because who is to say one way is better than the other...difffernt methods of government work well in difffernt places because the people are different...

besides...why would you want to make us all the same?? things would be so boring...there would be little to learn from others if we all did the same thing...

It could be possible, but throughout history dictatorship has been known to be too much accessed power to be controlled for many differetn people. China however is a dictatorship and they are productive and fine, it could happen, but it would be alot of work for jsut one person... and I personally wouldn't want Bush controlling everything, instead I do think the world governments are good because they are spread out pretty evenly.

That would be great. All nonsense pride for country of origin would be history. We would be helping each other. That would be the greatest thing.

that's a good question, and i wish it was like that BUT unfortunately...it's never gonna be that way...too many power hungry greedy politicians fighting over what's what....this is why we have wars....sad isn't it?
