I don't care about Joe Torre anymore or the NY soap opera. There is still baseball to play, so stop dominating ESPN with this crap. We have the whole off-season to blow all of this out of proportion.

It is not that I don't like Torre, but I just want to focus on the excellent matchups for the League championship series

I could not agree more. I was watching ESPN last night and the headline story was Torre. I watched in disbelief. The Cleveland Indians who have a third of New York's payroll just beat NY in their own house but the focus was on Torre. Get real. There are fans for other teams - anyone doubting that should have been at Jacobs Field for Games 1 and 2. Also - the Indians opened up the lower levels and the club section of Jacobs Field when the Indians were in NY. They showed the game on the Jacobs Field scoreboard and this event was sold out - the lower levels were free and the club seats were $25 per seat, all food included and it SOLD OUT. Because announcers are so biased towards NY, the Indians turned off the TBS announcers and put on Tom Hamilton, voice of the Indians so Indians fans could enjoy THEIR team. I do not have anything against Torre but give it a rest already. The Indians season alone merits more attention than they are getting, even if they had lost the ALDS.

Carnac, I agree whole-heartedly with your statement. I've said it over and over again, I am so sick of ESPN because it seems that despite the fact that we are onto the ALCS now, ESPN reacts as if the baseball season is over. And unfortunately the baseball season begins and ends with the Yankees dismissal from the playoffs. This story really should have waited until after the World Series. But the always greedy Steinbrenner had to find a way to focus the attention back onto the Yankees so he made some assenine comments about Torre losing his job if the Yankees didn't advance past the ALDS.

So you don't like Joe Torre. If George let's him go, you know how many teams would want him as manager probably including the team you root for. He is one of the best managers in baseball. Has your manager lead your team to 13 straight post seasons & 4 titles, I think not. I realize that the Torre story is getting a lot of air time even though there is more baseball to be played & it isn't fair to other teams that are still alive in play-offs. I do wish to see Indians vs Rockies in series & Indian fans wait another year for title.

Actually, if it weren't Joe Torre but some bum like Dusty Baker or Jim Wrigleman on the Yankees, it would not be news.
Joe Torre is a great manager, he ain't the Greatest (That's Bobby Cox), but he is great.

ITS THE NY YANKEES..........If it was someother team it would not be the headline on ESPN.....You think the media attention is to much about Joe Torre wait until the Yankees make their announcements regarding Alex Rodriguez, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Roger Clemens, Bobby Abreu!!!!

I think if Torre was gonna get fired, it would have happenned already...Steinbrenner is obviously rethinking his comments about Torre being fired if he loses the first round...
