i have been trying to ring on there mobile a friend but i relized you need a area code. could someone tell me what it is thanks

It all depends on where the person with mobile phone lives. We have 3 area codes just in my city!

Or are you talking about the international dialing code?
That would be:
0011 +1* + (area code) + (local number)

For example:
0011 + 1* + 444 + 444-4444
(but the 4's are obviously just placeholders for a real phone number)

There are many (dozens?) of area codes in the US. The area code is usually in parenthesis. Like the hotel down the street is (478)746-1461. Are you saying that you are missing the (478) part? If so, I'm sure that there's an internet site that will tell it to you. But you would need to know what city he is in.
