Abu Dhabi is quite open. You will not be expected to wear a headscarf, but you might find it easier not to expose large amounts of flesh. Most ex-pats live in complexes. Compared to the UK, these may be apartments, but they are normally luxurious. You'll find that the 'natives' speak English, possibly better than you, since they've learnt it as a foreign language and know the rules! I lived in many countries when my children were still living in the family, and they adapted. I think it's good that you understand that you are going to be living in a country with a different culture. You'll soon get the feel of the place. After that, it's just a question of mutual respect. You'll be fine!

Thats a pretty good salary depending of course on qualifications etc. You can get apartment for a yearly rent of DH 40,000-DH 45,000 for 2 room apts etc. in the Umm Al Nar Areas or Between the Two Bridges ( smaller buildings). If it is just you, you should be okay. Saving would depend on how wise you spend etc. and manage your money.
