Reincarnation is the original option for the personalities we see on Earth today.
Time is a linear delusion mankind agrees too. Mankind sees time as a straight line yet this is not the case in the true nature of reality.
If one would consider God the ultimate awarness-consciousness; one might agree that God has no limitations in time such as we obviously do.
With that said, God is aware of each mans life (s) "all at one time" as He is not subject to the linear time as we are. Therefore, all ouir reincarnations occure at one "time" subject to our limited awarness that it is occuring "right now".
God experiences each life and each life possibilities.
Your question is about "what if"...what would you come "back as" and this is what I address as "it is already a done deal" within reality that you have reincarnated hundreds of times already, but are not aware of it...

A house cat. They've got the life! They get fed everyday, they get their own place to poop and someone cleans it up, there's rarely a shortage of people willing to lavish affection upon them, they can sleep all day and no one complains, no one expects them to fetch or guard the children or attack strangers and they can lick themselves! It's the best of all worlds!

its not an option for me ( i'm gonna live for ever ) but if it was , would have to be a cat , so long as i wasnt neutered , sleep all day , out all night waking up the pesky humans lol
