this morning, but it was dust on the screen! I do keep my house clean, honest! I just have other priorities, like Quentin Crisp. Am I alone in this?

Oh, OK, Quentin Crisp was a flamboyant gay man who "came out" in the sixties at a time when it was not easy to do so. He was English but spent his last few years in New York. His philosophy with housework was that if you do it, the dust only comes back and after four years, it doesn't get any worse.

The question is is housework a priority or do you put it on the back burner and do it when you feel it needs to be done? Nothing to do with gay dust!!! Maybe you employ a cleaner to do it for you. Whatever!!!!

If you don't know about the great Quentin Crisp, I'd suggest the movie "The Naked Civil Servant" starring John Hurt. On housework, it's not a high priority. I have a cat and 2 dogs the "freeloaders") who go in and out at will through a pet door. If we worried about house work, we'd vacuum every day! I cleaned a couple of windows Saturday and I keep the place tidy by picking up as I walk through the house. Frequently dusting and vacuuming is a waste of time. I'd rather go to the movies, see the new shows at the museum and have fun in life. My tombstone is not going to read "He kept a clean house."

LOL! We could dust every day and it still comes back. Hubby asked last night where the dust comes from. I don't know.
OK, I looked up Quentin Crisp and this is what I got:
Quentin Crisp (December 25, 1908(1908-12-25) – November 21, 1999), born Denis Charles Pratt, was an English writer, artist's model, actor and raconteur known for his memorable and insightful witticisms. He became a gay icon in the 1970s after publication of his memoir, The Naked Civil Servant, brought to the attention of the general public his defiant exhibitionism and longstanding refusal to conceal his homosexuality.
Are you telling us something? :-)

Life is short. The dust isn't a very big issue but sounds like Quentin Crisp is. Do what YOU want to do. I usually do.

Actually Shan I thought he said when the dust gets 4" thick it did not get any thicker but I could be wrong it was a long time ago. Pity I can't come and do your housework anyway don't worry about it. It is much more important to get on with Yahoo answers and it will still be there when you've finished

I keep the house straightened and clean when it's needed, but it's not as important to me as when I was younger. Living with 6 cats at the end of a dirt road guarantees the dust is going to win the battle here.

The dust and cobwebs have become part of my decor, since these tired old eyes don't see well anymore! Or maybe I just choose not to look and spend my time doing what gives me much more pleasure.
I fear Maid Angela would be appalled if she were to visit and would give me a proper scolding. The dust bunnies have taken up permanent residence and are breeding madly!

TV screens are dust magnets!....and get even worse if pets or smokers are in the house. Hint: Use a dryer sheet to dust the screen after first thoroughly cleaning it.

Not sure of the significance of the question. Are we comparing "gay dust" to regular dust ? Think the only difference is the vacuum used to suck it up.

Dust doesn't have a fighting chance in my house. The cats' tails keep everything well-dusted, but covered in fur.
