Unlike 99% of people who will sit down and telll everything that you could ever want to know about how terrible Vista is, I have actually used it, and have used it since it came out, and I can tell you it is not even a tenth as has people make it out to be. The only problems you will have at this point is maybe 1 out 100 programs won't work with it, or if you may have a driver problem if you have a peripheral made by a crappy company, but other than that, all the big problems have been worked out. The problem is that Vista being bad has become such a popular thing to say, that reality doesn't even matter any more.

Yes, someone will buy a Dell 531 with Vista. But I surely will stick with XP.

Vista is not bad, it just takes some getting used to.One thing to consider. If you buy it with Vista you can always pick up a cheap copy of XP and put it on there. Vista is not cheap.

i would recommend stick with XP for a while, vista is not stable yet.
