My computer uses DDR2 memory; I know that I can use any DDR2 memory to upgrade, but how would I find out how fast of a new memory stick my motherboard could handle?

Simple terms please. :)

This can only referenced properly against the matching table that the board maker put in the manual, not you nor anybody else can tell. There is only 1 or 2 grades of memory would work without destablizing the system, for instance your board says it could take in four grades of memory but that is only because it can run matching grades of CPU, if CPU--memory does not match in that table then very likely the system can't handle.

Even if you put a faster memory stick in it, it will only run at the max speed for the motherboard or cpu, just don't put a slower one in it. The memory stick should have a sticker on it which shows the speed in "mhz". Check the one installed from the factory.

Look in the manual for the motherboard.

Also it won't hurt the motherboard if you purchase memory with a higher speed than what the motherboard can handle.
