Why do you ask? It would entirely depend on the circumstances. In the end would it only hurt the "nearest and dearest"?

This depends on the situation at hand. However, I always keep in mind that a lie ALWAYS comes out sooner or later... and it has been my own experience that it is usually harder to tell a lie than the truth.
(I can't go wrong w/the truth.)

Um, I wouldn't say lie, lol cos i feel bad after I lie, but something better than lying is going round in circles, and if you do have to lie just believe ur lie is true, trust me lool

It would have to depend on the situation. If some one killed or hurt a child, I would turn them in. If it's something simple, I might. But, I am a really bad liar.

Absolutely.

hmmm.... that would depend on what you're going to cover up... if you have to lie only to protect their best interests and will result to bad things to happen to others then no.. you should think of the greater good... but if it's life-and-death sitch... i guess i would, considering the fact that it will not cause harm to others...

if it saved them from getting hurt then yes, but i wouldn't lie if someone was cheating, and i wouldn't lie if they had murdered or raped someone, i could never stand up in court and lie, but to be quite honest my family would never ask me to compromise my morals just to cover up for them.
