First I would say that I am your father not a part of an animal.

Second I have been to Europe, I learned some basics of French, since I went to France, England, Scotland and Ireland. I did not see any dislike on their parts. Only when I mentioned that I came from the US (during the Clinton hearings) they kept asking me what was wrong with my government. To this day I still could not answer that question. You have an affair you get impeached, you start a war on less than reliable intelligence you don't.

Third. If you visit a foreign country, how hard is it to learn some of the language. We keep saying we expect the Mexicans to learn English. Are we becoming a society of do as I say not as I do?

Finally, I ask this question. Have you ever visted Europe? I have lived and visted it. I have been to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, and Germany. I have meet some jerks (I will admit it, but then I meet some jerks in America) the vast majority, however, were very nice and helpful.

Tell him they don't like each other either. When I was in Italy some people were very rude. I thought it was because I was an American but then found out it was because they thought I was English. I was taken to be English in England also when I didn't say much, so was treated to what the said to each other about the various nationalities that live in London. They bashed everyone not just Americans. I realized that the ethic prejudices that has almost disappeared in America came from what our ancestors brought with them from Europe.

Sometimes I see clueless Americans who won't bother to learn the language, or even a few basic phrases, they come off as rude, with sense of entitlement and seem to know little to nothing about the culture, history or social norms of the places they visit. In some countries, especially in the Middle East I tell people I am from Canada. I don't think Americans come of as well informed, very intuitive or even currious about the world at large. And then there is our hopeless president and his war in Iraq and his war on terra. To some in places like Egypt or Turkey we will say some where in Texas, a villiage is missing its idiot.

Number one: stop calling you "Paw".

Number two: we should focus on being a healthy nation socially and economically, and not place too much importance on what others think.

Tell the kid that it is not true.
People of one area may not like the culture or system of people of other are. It does not mean they don't like the people. There are lots of things they like about America.

Because Europeans are jealous of the success and freedoms that Americans enjoy. All of this is born out of policy, capitalistic ideals, and hard work - all of which do not align with European Socialist ideals.

Remind your kid that it was because of U.S. intervention that these people's grandparents did not become ash in the bottom of Hitler's furaces, and NO victory was EVER won over the enemies who wished to destroy us without us putting up a fight.

Remind your child that the U.S. offers more personal freedoms to its citizens (and non-citizens) than any other country in the world. We offer more foreign aid, in the form of medicine and research to combat disease, food to combat hunger, money to combat poverty, etc. than ANY other country in the world. No nations has ever done as much to protect human rights, both domestically and abroad than the U.S. has.

Because we have so much and because we are willing to contribute so much, we have taken on a responsibility that no one else on this earth cared to do. With responsibility though, comes power. For that, they are jealous.

These people want and take everything they are offered from the U.S., from money, to food, to the lives of our soldier who have fought and died for them, but they resent us for the stature which we have achieved.

Is your kid American? Cause he can not speak proper English :).
You can try telling your kid this way "I think they don't like Americans, cause America is quite good. Maybe we are too ignorant sometimes and we like to stick our nose in smb. else's business."
