Dill pickles are the best.
black olives are yucky.

Olives and Pickles taste nothing alike. I love black olives but not green ones, and I haven't been able to eat dill pickles since I was 10 and ate a whole jar and puked for hours.....once I eat or drink something then throw up, I can never have it again. Which is why I can no longer drink Southern Comfort, Vodka, JD, Jim Beam, Beer, etc.

It depends. I like bread & butter pickles - love the onions from them on a hot dog. Dill pickles are ok sometimes. I like green olives to munch on, or chopped and mixed with cream cheese as a bagel spread. Black olives are great in recipes, particularly on a pizza. Greek olives are great in a sub sandwich or on a Greek pizza.

I like both . Bread and butter pickles are my favorite . I prefer black olives to green . I really don't think they taste the same since the process to make them are entirely different . But , your Mom is entitled to her opinion .

i do unlike olives and you probably did not say what variety of pickles, i like pickles eggs, beets, onions etc, yet not gherkins that i think of you're alluding to. (an atypical American call for them) in case you got here to a save right here and asked for pickles you would be presented a myriad of pickled products.

really depends on what you are eating, on a sandwich pickles would definitaly win, but on the other hand you can make a very good olive martini with three olives vodka and some vodka juice.

I only like the refrigerated dill pickles. The crunchier the better.
Most olives are yummy in my tummy, and do a body good.
IMHO.
