they're near the top on my 'most hated bands' list. :x it seems all the cruddy bands get tons of radio play these days.. my solution: stopped listening to the radio.. all the good music tends to be harder to find..

People request their music and they sell out arenas, so they must be popular. Commercial "rubbish" is an opinion. Chad Kroeger (the lead singer) even admitted he's a sell-out, but he followed that statement with "I did it to live the dream." I do it too to have that kind of money and fame. He's a rockstar, what more could an aspiring rockstar want?
I personally like their music from a technical aspect. They have some of the best produced and sonically mastered recordings around.

I'm lucky that my station doesn't infect everyone with Rock Star 24/7. Anyways, the band started out decent, but once Someday came out, blah...they were indeed becoming a parody of themselves. Time will tell whether people really care about them. I have rarely found fans of Nickelback on the internet.

Nickelback are fantastic they are feel good songs and easy to sing along with. his voice is unique-one of a kind. why don't you like it?? If you don't like the guitar in it at least you must like the lyrics...they have softer songs or ones with heavier guitar so take your pick, they have a style for every one. THAT is the big deal about Nickelback. Oh, and they are not just in it for fame and money. They are actually talented, unlike a lot of artists today. Have you heard them live? They sound the same...amazing. I guess a lot of people are moving away from typical 'pop' artists who can't actually sing. These guys can.

I don't get the popularity either. A friend had me listen to the cd that Rockstar is on and I thought the whole thing sucked. I couldn't figure out what he was making a big deal about.

I can honestly say that I do not know a single person that likes them. Lucky for me I don't listen to the radio so I don't have to put up with their pathetic tunes.

They are this decades hootie & The Blowfish it seems. they have just lasted longer...or at least that is the band that immediately came to mind when I saw this post. Another very radio over-dosed group.

I call them a "one-album wonder". Their first album was decent, and "How You Remind Me" was a good song -- the first 1,563,956 times I heard it.
Ever since that album, they almost seem to be trying too hard. They're more a parody of a rock band now.

The very first song they came out with was good but after that it seemed like they got more ballady and mundane.

What's the big deal about you? do you have issues? they're good, and even if they're not good for you, you must respect the likes of other ppl because that is a basic rule of coexistence, if we all liked the same sh!t the world would be crap...
I like 'em...
