As I'm considering buying one of them.
I'm interested as to whether those two brands are reputable and good when it comes to parts and service, particulary in regional Australia.

I almost posted a bunch of junk about good manufacturers. Just look over the products in your price range and try them out in-store if you can.

Look for a good combination of speed and quality in the spec's first and learn what your spec's are and what they mean, then go looking.

Pages per minute can be a completely meaningless measurement or it may have meaning depending on the manufacturer, so you might want to bring a stop-watch.

What it's usually supposed to indicate is something along the lines of printing out a lightly covered page (say, a double-space letter with no graphics). That would be a single printed page in the "pages per minute" and also in the "pages printed per cartridge" measurements. But of course many manufacturers will cheat on the "pages per minute" metric by telling you the number of pages ejected but not printed on per minute. Which of course is much faster.

So try to get your own hands-on experiences with the printer before you buy.

Check where do you go when you have a problem, or if they actually do in-house warranty for first couple of year/s

Xerox is big brand, but in my past experience which model you have your eyes on is more important, I have an NEC paperweight laser. You are really playing Russian Roulette when buying any kind of digital equipment now.
