1. Drink lots of water, and 2 ounces of pure cranberry juice each day.

2. Soak in an epsom salts bath for at least a half hour each morning.

3. Don't eat salt or anything salty, don't drink any carbonated drinks or sodas.

4. Get on a stationary recumbent bicycle (feet up) and pedal slowly for a half hour after your soak in the epsom salts.

Be careful. It is NOT normal to hurt when pregnant or at any time; your body is sending you a warning. There are a lot of different things that could be causing your pain, but the above regimen will take care of most of them. If all of these things together doesn't help, stop working, running around after kids, etc. and go on bed rest except for this regimen. If THAT doesn't do it, see your doctor and an orthopedist to prevent permanent injury to your joints.

Oh yes I remember this except both side of my hips hurt, it felt like my pelvis was going to fall apart. Couple that with sleeping only on my side during the last few months of my pregnancies made it even worse. Your hips could be out of alignment (a chiropractor can help) or it could even be your sciatic nerve but that usually runs down the back of your leg from your butt to your knee. It could just be because of the pregnancy hormone relaxin which does what the name implies and relaxes all the joints and muscle so the baby can get out a little easier.
When you sleep on your side try putting a pillow between your knees it can help hip problems. If you can handle stretching your hip can help too, just don't over do it. I definitely doubt it is a uti. But at your next check ask the Doc it is probably just a common complaint while pregnant. :(

Chances are it's not a UTI but it doesn't have to necessarily hurt when you pee. I've had them where it hasn't. You should ask your doctor abt. what you can take, if you even want to. I was told I can take Tylenol for pain-not Advil or aspirin! But I've suffered thru any pain because my little pamphlet also says the less meds taken during pregnancy the better.

I have hip issues. There are exercises you can try doing. Do a google search but for a quick exercise try stretching your hip out somehow until you feel a good stretch and hold for at least 5-10 sec. Do that up to 10 times. I've done a similar one of that at my physical therapy for my hip.

Good luck!

It could be due to that chemical, relaxin I think, that allows your joints to move more freely so that you can get the baby out eventually. I had that problem in my hips and knees. I think it was because I insisted on wearing heels until I was eight months pregnant... It went away after I had the boy but I just had to be very mindful of how I sat and walked and slept during the last three months. I only wore heels for a few special occasions but it was enough to make it unbearable for two days after.

Hope that helps a little

It is normal to have Braxton-Hicks contractions in the fifth month, but they shouldn't be painful. It's normal for the baby's kicks to start being a bit sharper, but those wouldn't always be in the same spot. And pains related to digestion, heart burn and elimination are discomforts of pregnancy, but your description of where the pain is gives me pause. If it really does feel like trapped gas, try drinking some fennel tea to help you pass wind. And then a cup of peppermint tea to soothe your stomach a few hours later. You might also try chewing gum to get things moving. It's given to women who have had c-sections to get their gas moving again, so it might just help a pregnant woman too. If the pain starts to feel like it's rooted in a muscle or if it comes and goes according to a pattern, ignore the rest of this answer and go to your doctor or midwife immediately.

i've had hip pain in my right hip, i found i was sleeping lots on my right side, when i switched sleeping positions the pain miraculously disappeared! it might be worth a try, also dont sit with your legs crossed as this puts your hips out of alignment and can make pains worse.
