I am hoping that with Tony Jr leaving DEI early he can get to HMS and learn there way of doing things...I hope the day of Dale Jr telling Tony Jr how to do everything is over. Dale Jr is going to have to learn that the crew chief calls the shots, and Jr does the driving...I was looking forward to him being with Alan G...Yes Tony Jr is family and Dale Jr is big on family. I'm hoping and praying this works out for the best.. They both have a lot to learn, its HMS now and not DEI boys, do it the HMS way ONLY if you want to be successful and win.

I am a bit disappointed to hear about Tony Jr's move. I was really looking forward to a fresh start with some new faces and ideas. Jr drives too hard too soon and blows his stuff up and obviously needs people that he respects more that just as friends and family to get him straight so he can race to win. I seriously hope this is not a huge mistake.

Do not get me wrong - I adore Jr and have always been a serious Earnhardt fan. I am not bashing here. All Jr fans are bring force-fed a major change here and the way I see it, everything should go to the extreme and be done right. Give the man a top notch team that consists of all new faces with fresh ideas who are all chomping at the bit - just itching for the chance to do well and work with someone like Jr. New people seeking approval may be just what Dale needs. Who knows? Time will tell.

Jr negotiated the right to pick his crew chief when he worked out the contract details with Rick Hendrick. Too bad for him, he may be the cause for not as good a debut there as what might have been possible with Alan Gustafson calling the shots. Dale will continue to argue with and override Tony on pit and race strategy. What he really needs is someone to tell HIM what the plan is and then make him stick to it. They have some of the best personnel in the business at HMS and Jr would have been wise to fully take advantage of the fresh start he is getting there. Tony is not a bad crew chief and I don't think he was really the reason for the problems with the 8 car at DEI. His problem is that he backs down when Jr barks because of too much familiarity and their history. Casey Mears is going to be the driver to really benefit from all this because now he gets Gustafson, the 5 team's pit crew and cars.

I think that he will be just fine. I think that the inconsistency that haunted Jr's team with DEI had ALOT to do with Theresa. I think that both Tony Jr and Dale Jr will have the resources necessary and more freedom to call the shots with Hendrick to have a great year next year! I support Jr (tony and dale) 100%!!

Actually, I was expecting Jr to be with Alan Gustafson, before Tony Jr's announcement that he would be going to HMS, and I thought that Gustafson would be good for Dale Jr.
But Jr is comfortable with his cousin, and I think that will help him a lot, with the Hendrick technology and equipment.

I think that once him and Earnhardt JR get the hang of how things work at Hendrick, everything will be fine.

Don't get me wrong, Eury Jr. is one of the best in the business, but I think it will give him the edge of sophistication he needs, and the move happening early is smart for all concerned. Dale Jr seems like the kind of guy who likes to be in a comfort zone... As stress and grief free as possible (I can relate!!) Hats off to Rick for giving Dale Jr. the freedom to make some of those decisions. I look for That team to do VERY well next year!

To be honest with you I think it's a mistake. I believe that's been some of Jr's problem with not running consistently. We'll all heard how DAle Jr is mouthy with Tony Jr on the radio, basically telling Tony how to do his job. If Jr has the same so-so year next year, I think we'll see that I'm right about this.

I think it is a mistake for Little E to bring him to Hendrick. He will hold him back and will force Rick Hendrick to fire him down the road.

He will be with Junior. The only thing that matters is his relationship with Dale, Jr. and the crew. He will be fine...
