god did not come looking for man, man went looking for god and the world became religion's slave for over two thousand years. The Bible, like all religious texts contain some universal truths which makes the documents appear to be true. Fictitious literature does the same thing, weaving truth with fiction to make a believeable story. So it goes with the Bible. i do not believe the other religions know the truth either. I am not all antiChristian, that is the religion I used to have until I saw the light and became enlightened. I write about the religion I know and not something like Islam which I know only a little about. Christians are the reason I left Christianity and started to question my beliefs, which led to the realization that most people worship an idea, a myth, and not a real person. I'd like to believe a god that is personal is out there, but christianity has warped that ideology to the point it makes no sense to worship god when he does not take the time to appear to his worshippers unless they are by themselves with no witnesses. Then we are suppose to take the person's word that they speak for god? *&^% that idea!

I know He does exist so what does that mean? It means that you aren't convinced that faith in God is more logical than faith in the lack of His existence. That's all it means. Sounds like you are in love with the idea of God and all the nice little things He could do for you if you decided to believe in Him, but the part of God you aren't able to deal with or accept is the more difficult side which deals with your personal faith, and the sacrifices you would have to give up to follow His ideals. It's not an atypical way to think.

I wonder why you're in love with the idea... and am sure the reason is God himself :)
May God give you the guidence you need to find Him and love Him even more than you love the idea... just wish it as the verse from the Quran below states... you have nothign to lose.

Isn't the idea of God all that God really is? Or maybe our perception of "God" that causes this phenomenon. Personally I believe, but you do have a GREAT point. I suppose we all need a little comfort in the universe.

It's a nice warm thought, isn't it? Some celestial omnipotent being taking care of you?

But just because it's nice doesn't necessarily make it true, otherwise I would be believing that after I die I would go to heaven regardless of how I act or what I believe.

It is good beginning that you are in love with the idea of God.
Read the latest edition of God's scripture Al-Quran and then you will indeed fell in love with God Himself. God says in Quran that your utmost love must be for your God.

Allah is Arabic name of God. Don't be scared with word Allah. I know many fellow Christians will try to scare you and suggest you to stay away from Islam. You definitely will not loose any thing to explore.

I leave you with few quotations of God from Quran to think about God and if God inspire you then start reading Quran and learning about Islam.

"Truly, I am Allah; there is no God but I; therefore serve Me"
[Al-Qur’an 20:14]

“Verily, in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest.” (Quran 13:28)

“…Indeed the (Islamic) prayer prevents one from committing licentious and evil deeds…” (Quran 29:45)

“So set you your face towards the straight religion, the nature (framed by) God with which He has created humankind. No change let there be in the creation of God, that is the straight religion, but most people do not know.” (Quran 30:30)

May God you, me and all who desire their lives blessed with the One and Only Real God.
