It is like this, not everyone sees things the same way. If you told a story to your friend and he retold the same story, he might totally see things differently and put a slightly different spin on your story. If you read a passage out of a book, I may read the same thing and get a totally different meaning from it! It is all about personal interpretation! We do not have the apostles here to clarify every little issue that we do not agree on!

Praise God that He sees the heart! The Bible is crystal clear on what we need to do to be saved! Just accept Christ and repent of your sins! Salvation is available to all! Get in a Bible teaching church and love God with all your heart! Love your fellow man! So simple!

That's the problem with Christianity.
How can an Absolute God, allow his faithful to fracture so much and cause so many infighting.

It is very hard to convince any atheist, when those of the Abrahamic religions, cannot even decide which is the correct version and stick to it.

The main reason, for the fracture, is that different people have different opinions. Hence, there's so many intepretations of the Bible, like those who take it allegorically or literally. Furthermore, the Bible was written in a rather vague way, which is open to the readers on how to see things.

Some Christian denominations believed that all sinners will go to hell, while some believed they will simply be dead, and the existence voided.

Have you ever tried to keep in touch with everybody in all states, countries, for centuries...everybody learns at a different speed. Have you seen a little comedy where there is a long bunch of chairs and the 1st person is told something and it gets told down the line by a bunch of diff ppl, and then the last person says something outloud which is usually funny and had absolutely no relevance to the initial sentence? Give the ppl who are trying to make their lives happy a break.
More specifically about the diff denominations...this is an honest question...Did you know the whole world is not in one place...WHERE YOU GREW UP?

The Catholic Church is the one true Church which Jesus established here on earth. It has been here from the time of Christ and the Apostles up to the present - for 2000 years. We can see the unbroken succession of popes from the time of Peter up to the present - Benedict XVI. No other institution in history could ever match this. Its survival from continuous opposition (heresies, the Great Schism, the Protestant Reformation, and a lot more) and its continuous growth (a billion members, most among Christians) is attributed to its Divine Origin. Jesus promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matt 16:18).

In the 16th Century, a Catholic priest - Martin Luther had disagreements with the Church. Instead of voicing it out the right way (remained with the Church and settle it inside), he let himself and his group be heard by separating themselves from the Church. Thus, giving birth to the Protestant Reformation. It is more of a rebellion and not a reformation. This is attributed to man. And we all know that man is bound to fail without God.

With this, every other Christian group is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. And then, other Protestant denominations separated themselves with the original Protestant offshoots. (1521, Munzer separated with Luther and formed the Anabaptists; 1536, Calvin separated and formed Calvinism; 1560, Knox separated and formed the Presbyterians; 1609, John Smith started the Baptists; 1739, John and Charles Wesley started Methodism).

Now, we have 33,000+ denominations still separating themselves from the original and the separated groups of the original offshoots from the Protestant Reformation.

We are praying for our Protestant brothers and sisters to go back home, to Rome. The Catholic Church has the four marks of the Church - One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. It is Biblical - for the Bible is a Catholic book. (the list of books to be included was decided on the Council of Carthage, 397 AD). There is only one bride of Christ and these 33,000+ cannot be all brides of Christ. There is only one - the Catholic Church.

When you look at and study Christianity it is a religion started by man( not GOD or his son Jesus) starting in the book of Acts (11: 26) in a town called Antioch where the Disciples were called Christians.(By the waythis happened 40 years after the death and Resurrection of Christ). The word Christian is only in the Bible 3 times in text twice in Acts and once in 1Corinthians.(also read Acts20:29-30 where Paul warns that a separation will take place) The church Christ intended was one where Jews and Gentiles came together to worship GOD. One church, one GOD. Christ being the only way to the Father for both secs to come together as one people all for the glory of GOD. We as followers of Christ were called to be Disciples not once did you hear Jesus call anyone a Christian and if you count just in the book of Acts the word Disciple is used 29 times. Something to think about

Because humans have their different interpretations on the scriptures. Some of the scriptures ARE a little ambivalent, after all.

But in all truth, I've attended MANY different churches, and other than the structure and the way the services are held, there are only four denominations in Christianity: Mormon, JW, Catholic, and Protestant. Other than that, there is very little difference between the various sects.

It all depends on how you interpret the Bible. Martin Luther challanged the Catholic church and started a reform. He was right to say that the church should not torture people. Islamic law still has their moral police doing horrible things to their people for petty deeds( like a girl hanging out with a boy in public). 90% of Islamic followers to not want their government to be like the Taliban. Budda and Krishina are of the same religion of rebirth and they have lots of different denominations. By Islam not dividing, it has remained backwards and out of touch with its own people. Does that explain it to you?

There are so many denominations because certain people think that certain things mean other things. And then people are into a habit of thinking that 'church' means 'going to a building' that they conform to individual beliefs about what scripture means.

It's the same as anything. You get physicists opinions on certain matters, and there will be disagreement on certain issues, but they can come together on other issues without any or much disagreements.

It's the same thing here.

We have many denominations because of people's weaknesses and limitations. Also there are different groups because satan tries to get people divided, so there will be problems and fights and the church will be less effective in doing God's will.

Different denominations exist because people disagree about certain aspects of Christian doctrine. I guess it's better to go into different groups than to stay in one group and disagree all the time. Nothing would ever get done.

Personally, I call myself a Christian. I don't identify myself by the name of the kind of church I go to. My devotion to Jesus Christ is the most important thing to me. What kind of church I go to is much less important.

Because religion is mans take on what the Bible says.I'm not into religion, but I sure love Jesus because I went in my room and I said Jesus I am a sinner I know You died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins .Come into my heart Jesus and all of the sudden I felt Peace and love like I never knew existed.I said its Jesus He saved me.He put it in my heart that I would live forever with Him.So now I have a personal relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit leads me to tell my testimony to others.
