what is the role of the indian armed/civil defence forces in the world? please answer within 3 days........?

would like to interview any (ex-) soldier/ any one in the army, so i would prefer answers from any body related to the army...

Basically, to protect India against invasion and terrorism... they are also assigned with the duties of civil rest, border control and aiding nearby allies.
