A golf ball is a ball designed for use in the game of golf.
An appendix to the Rules of Golf defines, by the rules of the game, that a golf ball must not weigh more than 1.620 oz (45.93 grams), that its diameter must not be less than 1.680 in (42.67 mm), and that its shape may not differ significantly from a symmetric sphere. Like golf clubs, golf balls are subject to testing and approval by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the United States Golf Association, and those that do not conform with the regulations may not be used in competitions (Rule 5-1).

A bowling ball is a round ball made from rubber, urethane, plastic, reactive resin (solid, particle, or pearl) or a combination of these materials which is used in the sport of bowling. Ten-pin bowling balls generally have a set of three holes drilled in them, one each for the ring and middle finger, and one for the thumb; however, rules allow for up to five finger holes. A five-pin bowling ball has no finger holes and is smaller so that the bowler can hold the ball in the palm of their hand. Candlepin bowling balls also fit in the hand, but are lighter than five-pin balls.

Well, if you get them mixed up you'll get quite a nasty shock when you try to tee off, and get laughed out of the bowling alley as your small whilte "bowling ball" bounces off the pins.
