ed after Paul. I am not sure about Paul, but I am sure Jesus would have preferred it that way since it completely distorts what he was teaching.

You have chosen one exasperating topic for discussion! I appreciate your courage, if nothing else. There are many schools of thought on this subject, and yours is no more invalid than any other. The problem is, we have only two sources of information on Paul's 'doings': Paul's own testimony, and PAUL'S friend (and possibly business partner), Luke. This, to me, smacks of conspiracy, and I cannot form an unbiased view from the testimony of 1 (biased) witness. Peter had a neutral standpoint on Paul's doctrine, following in the neutral 'Aaronic' tradition, so we cannot surmise anything from that source, either.
What we DO have is the fact that EVERYONE, with the single exception of Luke, eventually broke off relations with Paul, and would have nothing further to do with him. The fact that Paul would have nothing to do with Peter's son, John, is very telling. Also, we have 'Barnabas' from the Acts involved in the contention over John. If you will notice, 'Barnabas' is none other than 'Joses', one of the 'brothers' of Jesus and James, (and cousin of John) and John had heard the testimony of Jesus directly, as an Apostle, along with the other Gospel writers, while Paul claimed to hear Jesus in a vision.
It seems strange to me, that Paul would not want a direct Apostle to come along on his journeys.
It also seems strange that Paul claims 'Apostleship', when there is no record of having been appointed as such...

Where does Paul "distort" Christ's teachings?

And no, Paul didn't start it. He just took it to the Gentiles. Why did he take it to the Gentiles? Because most of the Jews rejected it. This is covered in the Gospels, and in Acts.

Assuming that Jesus (PBUH) ever heard the word "Christianity"... which comes from the word christ which comes from the word "cristos" which is the translation of "messiah" to Greek... you will not find in the bible a word that describes the religion nor did Jesus (PBUH) ever give it a name... it's all man made :)
the closest you will find in the bible about this is when the Romans saw some of jesus's (PBUH) followers and called them "christians" refering to the followers of christ... then again... non of them spoke English at the time... I really wonder what the original name was....
What would be interesting is (for those of us who might be still here) to ask Jesus (PBUH) in his second coming "what is your religion?"...

Paul met Jesus on the Road to Damascus by special revelation. "All scripture is God-breathed..." Paul always served Jesus, never called anyone to worship him, but pointed everyone from commoner to king to believe and submit to the Lord Jesus Christ. Speaking against an Apostle of Jesus Christ is like speaking against Jesus himself. If you receive their teachings, you have received Christ's, but if you reject their teachings, you reject Christ who sent him.

I don't like Paul. Jesus started the church with Peter. Paul's writings are so arogant. It's like he is trying to steal the limelight.

A lot of academics and theologians already refer to Roman Christianity as "Pauline Docrine" or the "Pauline Tradition."

Wow. I've seen some pretty statistically biased "questions" here on R&S, but THIS ONE takes the cake for the month.

"had very little to do with Jesus" and "since it completely distorts what he was teaching"??? Oh, please, cite away.
