No. This is a sport that have stood for over a century now... Why abolish a sport that have been the foundation of sports like MMA's and UFC? I'm guessing that you're a UFC fan... But this is the kind of fight sport your grandfather or maybe your great grandfather enjoyed! Why abolish it? The emergence of UFC is good and they draw a lot of people but boxing still have some die-hard fans too. UFC will never be the reason for boxing's death.

Hope this helps.

Absolutely not. Boxing gives a lot of youngmen an avenue for success and hope when life all around them seems negative. Actually if you're referring to the rare death in the ring far more people die climbing mountians than in the ring. Yes, boxing isn't for the faint of heart, but for those of us who like one-on-one action there is no better sport out there. Boxing is a treasure and always will be. Some commission needs to be instituted to weed out corruption but boxing itself should remain and be supported by its fans.

The sport of Boxing supposedly originated in ancient Greece, the same civilization that started democracy and the philosophical idea of free will. Boxers choose to step into the ring of their own free will and people can choose to watch a boxing match or not. If you take away a boxer's and a boxing fan's right to choose, what kind of democracy is that?

Absolutely. Right after TV remote controls and free choice are abolished.

It would be hard to ban boxing as long as the UFC and other MMA companies are allowed to operate.

No, if there is, it's new to me. It is an unhealthy sport, but both the fans and the boxers obviously choose to overlook this or else they wouldn't support the sport. The same is true of football. Both sports cause head trauma which results in permanent brain damage.

It has been banned from time to time. There is a real need to control and clean out the trash that takes advantage of the athletes.

I do not see that ever happening so things will keep going along as they always have for our lifetimes.
