I foolishly swallowed a microwaved corn dog which burned and hurt all the way down, and now days later my "food-pipe" hurts and swallowing food hurts .
What do I do?

You burnt the lining of your esophagus. You don't have scars, because you can still swallow properly, but like any burn, it'll hurt for a while.

You can get prescription meds to help with the pain, but OTC drugs aren't that great for it.

It's really a waiting-game, unfortunately. Just be glad it's not worse, because you could have done a lot more damage!

If the meatball was "scalding" you could have burned your esophagus as the meat went to your stomach. So yes, the very hot food is most likely the cause. Drinking Milk will sort of coat the esophagus and help sooth it. If you can get some Carafate Suspension it could help with protect the lining while it heals.

Please go to the doctor. I scorched my esophagus and tongue once when I foolishly gulped down a hot coffee (I think I was drugged on allergy medicine at the time). It left the worst sort of scars, they eventually cleared up though.
