LAWS IN THE COSMOS
In science we study the laws found in the creation. Atheists have said that we do not need to believe in God, because the universe functions according to laws. But where did these laws come from? These laws are mathematical and rational. Could mindless energy have made mathematical laws out of chaos? No! These laws show an intelligent lawgiver. Irrational energy could not have produced rational laws. Why do the laws of the universe continue to function? Why are these laws regular?

Men have studied the universe in which we live. They have found that there are laws of physics and chemistry. These laws were not originated by men, but only discovered. These laws existed before men discovered them. It has taken much intelligence, knowledge and hard work just to discover these laws. Men did not make these laws. Did nature make these laws? Nature has no mind. Nature is dumb, blind and deaf. No, nature could not have made the laws that govern nature. Did these laws come about by chance? Chance is random, disorderly, destructive. Chance also is dumb, blind and deaf. No, chance could not have originated the laws of creation.

Physics and Mathematics

Scientists have found that the laws of the universe are mathematical in nature. These mathematical laws were not invented by men, but only found to exist already. Mathematics show a rationality in the order of the universe. In physics and engineering mechanics, experience has proven the mathematical laws to be reality. For example, men were sent to the moon and they were even brought back; the calculations were accurate. The rationality of mathematical laws in the universe demands a rational intelligent origin. Random chance evolution could not have brought forth these laws from chaos. The cosmos shows the work of a Great Mathematician. To accept science, one must logically believe in God who created science.

The Periodic Law in Chemistry

Take for example the material elements. They are made out of energy. The great Russian chemist, Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev, discovered the periodic law. He set up the periodic chart of the elements. Mendeleev found that elements are constructed according to the periodic law, not chance. Chemical elements also react according to laws of chemistry.

Laws Show the Lawgiver

Yes, the laws of the universe demand an intelligent Law Giver, a Mind. The laws of physics show the great Physicist. The laws of chemistry show the great Chemist. In the Bible, the great Law Giver calls Himself, God. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.

It is He who made the earth by His power,
Who established the world by His wisdom;
And by His understanding He has
stretched out the heavens. Jeremiah 10:12.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth.
By understanding He established
the heavens. Proverbs 3:19.

Do you know the ordinances of the heavens,
Or fix their rule over the earth? Job 38:33.

Why Do the Laws Continue to Function?

In science we assume that the laws of the universe are regular and will continue to function. This is only an assumption, as there is no reason for it unless God keeps it this way.
. . . and upholds all things by the word of His
power. . . Hebrews 1:3. Col. 1:17.

Some humans are very lazy. So, instead of searching for the truth, they created God. I mean, isn't it so much easier that way?

Doesn't help a bit. One may posit, if one pleases, that a deity constructed these laws in the first instance, BUT:
- No useful conclusions follow from such a thesis;
- The thesis does not suggest the existence of a deity who has any continuing interest, let alone intervention, in human affairs.
Hence, the idea is a waste of time -- even if it were correct, which it could be. For more on this, see:

There's no doubting that the physical laws of the universe appear to be very finely tuned. This is still a long way off from proving the existence of a god, gods or whatever. One popular idea in cosmology is that our universe is simply one component of a much bigger "multiverse" in which there are a possibly infinite number of universes. This would explain why our universe appears so finely tuned - only universes with laws similar to ours are capable of sustaining intelligent life.

I think you're getting confused on the definitions, either accidentally or purposefully.

Laws in society are basically a code in which members of that society must act (or guidelines to act within) and are generally established by consensus.

Natural laws are observed factors within which certain physical components appear to adhere to. They are not actual 'laws' but are simply how something is expected to work, so to speak.

Does this help you understand the difference?

Very lofty language, but how does it prove God's existence?

The Laws of Nature are just that: Natural. They don't need a creator any more than lightning or a hurricane needs a creator.

Also, if something created those things, he would need to be more complex than what those things are. Hence, he would also need a creator and so on, and so on into infinity.

By the way; if it was created, why must it have been your God as opposed to the thousands of other gods?

1. you can't use the bible to prove the bible, That's like saying Oompa Loompa's really exist because Charlie and the Chocolate factory claims they do. Second, Since there are soooo many Creation stories, some even pre dating Judaism, then it's up to you, to prove your god did it and not someone elses.

Laws are not mathematical in nature, they are physical, but can be represented mathematically. Don't bother to argue, my specialization is mathematical analysis of physical systems to implement control systems.

every law you've mentioned,....... disproves everything single thing you've said.
If you were'nt so one eyed and biased, and perhaps a little more objective,....... you would know that science demands you provide proof of your god and his harp plucking angels, so that the worlds top scientists can verify it.

Scientific laws are based on one foundation and one foundation only.
And that is,...... physical evidence in the form of observable and incontrovertable proof.
So,...... until you can do that,..... your contentions remain deficient.

Simplistic hypotheticals,....... and scientific proof are complete and total opposites and my advice to you is,...... that whoever's teaching you science,..... should be sacked and replaced with an atheist.
That way,......... it'll save you shooting yourself in the foot.

Yes after reading so unloving attitudes on here you are so refreshing and correct.Only man's ego thinking he can be in control and know anything without knowing God,or admitting there is one.No matter how much "proof" they come up with they still can't figure out why it all works, just theories as to how it "might".The Bible speaks for itself and it has much to teach. Thanks for your question.!

You are merely using your god to fill in the gaps in your knowledge. Why do you expect to be able to know everything. Your mind is still quite primitive.
