Both have equal implications. But I never was one for viewing either as anything more then worthless gestures.Like all symbolism, these symbolic forms only have power because people give them power. In reality, both have been used as instruments of death. The noose still is an instrument of death. And, so, it seems like as symbols they are more effective as symbols of death rather then hate. But, as I said, both are symbols because we grant them the power of having meaning in symbolism.

Well if you are a student of history, you know that the Cross produces the most painful death possible. Further, the Romans were in the habit of crucifying so many at once that they would clear cut the trees from around cities.

Read up on what happens to a person during crucifixion.

So I would say the Cross wins hands down.

They are both really hateful, but the noose is probably much offensive.

If you are speaking of a burning cross....i would have to say in my humble opinion, that both are pretty much the same.

The only thing worth hating is hate itself.

While I think they are both equally hateful symbols, I don't think they are as universally recognized as the ultimate hateful symbol of all - the swastika.
