First, let's consider the anatomy of the female human body .
The urinary bladder is situated in the front of the pelvis. Then the uterus in between. Then the sigmoid colon and rectum behind.

The position of the uterus in the adult is liable to considerable variation, depending chiefly on the condition of the bladder and rectum. When the bladder is empty the entire uterus is directed forward, and is at the same time bent on itself at the junction of the body and cervix, so that the body lies upon the bladder. As the urinary bladder fills, the uterus gradually becomes more and more erect, until with a fully distended bladder the fundus may be directed backward toward the sacrum. This is the pressure that you feel sometimes when the distended bladder pushes against the rectum.

As the vagus nerve stimulates the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines; this too come into play for this pressure. By bearing down on this vagus nerve, called vasovagal maneuver, one can lower one's heart rate and blood pressure and can ultimately cause uncosciusness at times.

So it's impt to void as soon as you feel the urge to void. Holding back urine might cause UTI ( Urinary tract infections)

I had my doctor tell me that this is your bladder pressing on your bowels. Also, it can mean you are constipated. You may not feel like you are, or your are still able to go, but you could not be going as much as you should be. Definately talk to your doctor about this but try eating more fiber and emptying your bladder as soon as you feel you need to.
