how to clear programs from the windows start up menu?

the programs that automaticaly start when windows boots. they are annoying and they slow the boot down. i know u can configure the actual programs in question but on a few they dont have the option to uncheck the auto start up. can u do it somewhere in windows? thanks

Start>Run
type msconfig
click ok.
Click on the Startup tab, and you can make changes there.

You could also do a search or a startup editor. There are quite a few programs that will help you with this.
