The absolute best. I have great earthly parents but God is even better then them, I can turn to Him for my every care and need. Even the Bible says the desires of my heart and if those things are what is best for me He sees that I get them.
People limit God by what they do not ask for. That is not to say we should just ask for anything and expect to get it but if we are living up to all that we know we should and have a relationship with Christ then we can ask for anything and expect to get it if it is to our best interest. Even when we aren't being so good and doing what we know is right He is still there watching out for us and caring for us and when we come back to Him we can see where He was in our past. I can not count the times or many answered prayers that my Savior gives me. And thank Him for everyone of my blessings, even my wonderful parents.

He is a lot better parent than I am. Actually, the NT says that if we, being not very good parents, give good gifts to our children, then how much more (not how much less) will the Father of our spirit give us all that we need.
He will never forsake us. Even if we disown him, he will not disown us. Even if we curse him, he will never reject us. Even if we are unfaithful, he is always faithful. He will finish what he started and will never leave or forsake us. Now that's a good dad.

He is an amazing parent to His children. He is patient, loving, protective, forgiving, concerned with and wants to be a part of my every day life. And He is a wonderful counselor, friend, & Savior.
I have tried to follow His example with my own children, and we enjoy a wonderful loving, honest relationship even though I am not perfect like Almighty God and have failed in my attempts to be the perfect parent. But that is the wonderful thing about love, patience, and forgiveness. If you practice it and teach it you receive it back from your loved ones in return.

Yes. Sometimes my earthly parents would do or say things I simply could not understand because of my immaturity, but I was expected to obey regardless. Now as a parent myself, I understand what they were talking about. In a very real sense, it is the same with God. We may not understand everything He says/does, but we are expected to obey regardless.
1Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall fully know even as I also am fully known.

Of course he is. The father can only do so much for his child. He can only be a guide when the child goes out on his own. Whether the child listens is not in his control.

Yes, he loves unselfishly, expecting and getting nothing in return. He sacrifices everything (even his only son) to show his love, he never forces his children - but asks them and even when they disobey, he still helps them get out of the holes they often dig and fall into themselves.
