As a church director of music and worship arts for over 15 years, I have found that usually the choir members are some of the most active and committed members of a congregation, and usually deeply devout in their faith.

There have only been a couple of choir people over the years that I have had to "preach" to.

huh? do you mean the phrase "your preaching to the choir"?
That phrase implies that the "choir" should already know "doctrine" because they are right there with the preacher every week and that it doesn't need to be told something pertaining to spiritual matters. Although, it is a strange phrase, cause we all need reminding of spiritual things, no matter how well-versed we are in Biblical doctrine.

In some cases the people that seem to be the best little _________ (fill in your religion) are actually the least of what God wants.

They have learned how to act the part so to speak.

As far as needing to be preached to, no, usually not, because they have usually heard it all before but with closed ears and hearts.

What they need is something to shake up their world so that they can once again fall in love with God whom they have been putting on the performance for.

If you're referring to the phrase "preaching to the choir", then no, the choir needs the least preaching to.
If not, then sure, I don't see why they wouldn't

I think just about everybody needs preaching to. If the choir didn't need help, it wouldn't be in the church. :)
