To 99% of guys it means absolutely nothing. For me it will mean everything since im waiting till marriage to have sex. Society has rigged it so that men who lose their virginity early are studs.

Virginity is a social concept. It all started to protect women from the risk of pregnancy or unwanted child in 16 th century. At that time there was no birth control devices. But polygamy was permitted in rich upper class.Church glorified it.Now virginity means not having sex ,but not pregnant.Contraceptives, condoms have made sex risk free and remaining virgin reqires a lot of will power. What is wrong if two matured persons with full consent enjoy sex, with out any risk?Do not make virginity a great issue, but restrain yourself if you can.

If a guy has real religious/moral convictions, then yes, it is a big thing. However, for guys like me, if we hold onto our virginity later in life, we want to lose it as fast as we can to avoid any stigma attached to it. It's a big deal for a guy not to be a Virgin for a long time and have other people ask, "Why hasn't he lost it yet?"

When a man loses his virginity it's like bragging rights to the boys. It's almost like a right of passage. When a woman loses her virginity it's means a great deal more. A woman losing her virginity means she's finally found a man worth giving herself too which means alot!

I think it is an individual thing. I know some girls who could give a toss about virginity (or at least that what they say) yet I know some boys who want to save themselves for the right time and person. As a general rule, however, it is more common for girls to place greater value on their virginity.

I think it is a big deal for all concerned. Perhaps more so for women as many of them are told that virginity is a precious gift that they must share only with the man of their dreams. They are conditioned to want this perfect night of love making with the perfect man. So this probably puts more pressure on the girls.

i don't think it is as bigof step fr guys as it is for girls i mean girls get all emotianal and guys just move on...i thank that girls and guys should be made to feel the same way becuase in ways it's not fair if girls lose there virgiity becasue they regret it and guys don't even care!!!
