Respect must be earned, it is deserved by no one.

Some are. I'm not saying there is any justification for being disrespectful towards someone, but if a fundamentalist is disrespectful, they should expect the same in return. If they protest, you can call it the law of sowing and reaping. They'll get the picture.

Well God love 'em. They can't help it.

Children raised in environments which consistently reward convergent reasoning and strict adherence but punish divergent reasoning, can conceivably grow into adults who are prone to getting stuck in various beliefs or ideologies.

It's sad, but being stuck in a doctrinal belief system which is intolerant of one’s own or another’s personal interpretation, or one which dispels science and foments intolerance of others while setting its followers apart as elite and uniquely special, is a move away from our full potential and from the kind of reasoning that has brought humanity its marvelous advances.

Ya just have to respectfully pity them.

"worthy"? Disrespect, like respect, should be earned. "worthy" is not earning, so ... no.

Have a blessed day.

As a Fundie Christian myself, I feel more disrespect for the hypocrites who claim out of one side of their mouths to be Christian, and then claim that there are parts of scripture that they just can't hang with, so they just decide to disobey those parts.

At least Osama Bin Laden walks his talk.......

No, they are believing in their religion to the fullest. I don't have any less respect for them than i would the average person, but I do sometimes wish they would be quiet.

Biblical believers are worthy of just as much respect, as unbelievers.

We don't put you down-show us the same respect.

do you disrespect all people who don't believe the same as you do or do you just pick certain ones? Do you stereotype people because of their beliefs? Is it ok for people to disrespect you because of the way you believe? just wondering.

Is Jesus Christ worthy of your disrespect !!! Read the following

Rom 5:8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
[1John 1:8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[1John 1:9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[Rom 10:9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[Rom 10:10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[Mat 10:32] Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven
