I'm having a bunch of kids meet me in the city for my 19th birthday. Obviosuly were too young to drink, but does anybody have any ideas of places that are kind of crappy but will allow us to drink and not check IDs? I'm looking for a tacky, but fun place for a lot of people. Please help!

I am not condoning your desire to be served alcohol at a bar or restaurant when you are underaged. However this is a forum to get answers to questions and since your question is not whether or not it is morally correct to try this I will attempt to guide you.
First of all the size of the group is going to make a big difference, the larger your group the less likely you will get served anywhere.
Second your demeanor, if you go into a place and act rowdy or too excited about the prospect of having a drink in a restaurant you are just drawing unwanted attention to the fact that you are underage and are sure to get carded. My advice, act like you've been there before.
Third do not try to get in anyplace that has a door person there is almost no chance you will get in.
As I am writing this I have decided that I don't want to recommend any specific places because that wouldn't be fair to the restaurant or bar.
I understand where you are coming from becasue I wanted to do the same thing before I was 21 too. The best luck we had was going to places that were not too busy but also not too slow. Above all be nonchallant about ordering as if it is no big deal. Have the oldest looking people at the table order something sensible like a glass of wine or a beer while the others act like they can't decide and just order water or a soft drink "for now". Then later in the meal they can order a drink, with the entree for instance.
If you go and order a flaming headbutt or Long Island Iced Tea you are just asking to be carded same with drinks like rum and coke. In a restaurant ask to see the wine list, most waiters like to sell bottles of wine because it is good for the check average and makes for less trips to the table for refills. So if you are respectful and mature and seem like you have been there before you will have the best chance.
It occurred to me that it may be a good plan to actually tell them that you are celebrating your 21st birthday. It could work because it would explain why you look so young but of course if you don't pull it off it could end up sorta embarrassing.
Finally there are many chinese restaurants in NYC that serve free wine with dinner check them out because I really have a hard time seeing them carding you and if they do you can just pretend you don't understand what they are saying.
I know many will think that is horrible but I don't live in the same fake PC world as others. The truth will set you free!

Anyway after all this you should probably just get a hotel room and party there.
Don't drive.
Happy Birthday

Flor De Mayo is one of the best deals in NYC. They serve Chinese-Peruvian food. It is very family-friendly. I've been to all of the fancy restaurants in NYC and as much as I enjoy them, I see no reason to do the fine dining thing in this recession when there are places like Flor De Mayo!

Wait until you turn 21 to drink, okay? No sensible bar owner is going to allow anyone underaged to have alcohol. I don't know how the laws are in NYC, but where I live, they do crack down on bars that serve under 21s alcoholic beverages.
