Seriously, did he really need an AR-15 in his spare time? I know the guy is a whack job, the question really should be how he got on the force in the first place. Oh wait, lots of cops probably have those violent tendencies anyway, no offense. I call it the Superman mentality, but anyway...I'm not out to start fights.

I hate people that think they can just blow others away and think it solves something. Hey, if your girlfriend is a *****, just forget about her and move on, you know?

I don't think it matters what type of gun he was carrying, or what his profession was. The guy obviously either wormed his way through a psych eval, or the deparment didn't give him a proper one.

The fact he was a cop shoudn't even matter. Anyone can get a gun if they really want one. If he was a plumber, would you be afraid of every other plumber in the country?

The greatest school mass killing in US history happened at Virginia Tech, the shooter killing 32 people, and wounding 17. This was done with two handguns, a 9mm, and .22
Its not the gun, its the person. Violent tendencies is what eventually ended the Tyler Peterson incident. Police have to be violent in order to protect you. By the way, Peterson never recieved any psychological exams, a requirement in most states to be an officer.

No.

It is an aberration. That is why it is news.

Did the girl who shot up a McDonalds in San Diego 25 years ago because she didn't like Monday force McDonalds to install bullet proof glass?

No, and for the same reason this will soon be forgotten.

Seriously, are you living your life any differently today then you were a few days agao as a result of this incident?

I didn't think so :)

Don't forget about the deacon who killed 5 people in his lawyers office because he was unhappy about his divorce settlement. They'd better regulate what types of guns members of the clergy carry off-duty. Then there's the Va. Tech student who blew away more than 30 people, they'll need to be monitored also. Lots of postal employees and office workers have blown away their co-workers in violent rages, so we'll need to keep an eye on them also.

No, it will not. An AR-15 is readily available at any gun shop, and may be purchased by any lawful citizen. The gun type is irrelevant, as is this persons occupation. If he had killed these people with an axe, would you mandate screenings for lumberjacks too?

The AR-15 is a rifle. You do not need to be a police officer to get one. This will have no effect on what guns officers can carry off duty.

Grind your axe elsewhere.

it's interesting to read the perspective of how cops are making light of this / bringing up civilian cases .

THE ISSUE IS A CORRUPT COP SHOT and KILLED SIX CITIZENS!!!

I am tired of hearing about their justifications. There is no justification for a cop who thinks they can harrass , beat and/or kill a citizen. Those that lie will not be tolerated either.

What is going to be done about corrupt cops that are beating and killing citizens ?
