Jesus despised the shame of the cross.

It's a shame to have a cross. There are no Christian symbols because symbols are images which are worshipped and take the place of the pure word of God to express what needs to be expressed in this dark world of lost people.

It's sort of a bittersweet relationship to me. A lot of Christians talk about his blood a lot, and I really don't like much of that either. For one, I think that the way some Christians use it is gross. Another reason is that it reveals their ignorance about it.

The cross to me means two things, it means that is the way Jesus died. Another thing it means is that it fulfilled prophecy concerning the wound inflicted upon the Messiah.

Other than that, I see it as an idol carried by those who still have weaknesses concerning a need to see something, or announce to the world that they are Christian - but that can be done in other ways, and some people I don't want knowing that I am a Christian.

I don't consider the cross holy (although Catholics might) It is simply a SYMBOL of my faith, immediately recognizable. The fish was, and still is, another symbol, because we are to be fishers of men. The cross represents the fact that He died to take away the sins of the world. I don't think of the cross as the tool used to kill Him, men were the tool used to kill Him, deceived by Satan that they were doing the right thing by killing this person they considered a heretic. And all that was prophesized loooonnnng before He was even born.

The cross lifted Jesus between heaven and earth. This represents Jesus as the mediator between man and God.

Because, even though Jesus died on that very cross, His death is what permits us to have life. If Jesus never died on the cross, then there would be no hope for mankind to have salvation from sin. We rejoice and remember the cross because it gives us life. And we worship Jesus, because He died on the cross willingly, even though He was innocent.

It's not holy....it's a reminder. The cross is where our Jesus paid a price for us.

It's not the cross that is holy. It's just a reminder for us as to what He did. It reminds us that He died on the cross as a propitiation for our sins. It's simply to remind us on a day to day basis lest we forget the price has already been paid and we are to forgive others and love our neighbors as ourselves. Simply that...

Hello, because only throught the cross were we reconciled to God. The Jews didn't kill him, the Romans didn't kill him. The Bible says that Jesus willingly died for our sins, that we may have peace with God.

I am Christian, in out church we actually don't worship the cross or have one on the outside of the chapel or the inside for that matter. We don't like to focus on his death but on his Atonement which saved us from our sins and on His resurection which allows each of us to live with our Father again after death

Because it represents for us how much Jesus loved us and the extent he was willing to go, even to his death on a cross, because of his love.

When we see a cross, we are reminded of his great love and sacrifice.
