Re: Coughing

As long as you do not notice any change in behavior, eating or sleeping, then there should be no treason to be worried. Sometimes dogs cough when they get too excited. The only time that you should become worried and schedule a veterinarian appointment would be if he is constantly coughing, he coughs up something, it interferes with his eating, drinking, or sleeping. If he coughs so much that he cannot do any of these things or if he seems to be made miserable, they you should bring him to the vet. It could be nothing but a nervous habit or something like an upper respiratory infection. It would be your call as to decide whether your dog is suffering from coughing.

If it becomes something you notice more and more, then a Vet check is in order.
