Your going to be fine. There is prescription strength versions of advil and it's much higher doses. The problem is advil is terrible on your stomach and long term use can cause bleeding ulcers and g.e.r.d. which is very painful and can get life threatening. If you need to go beyond the recommended dose you need to see your dr and tell them that it doesn't help your pain and you've been doubling the doses. They'll be able to give you the right medicine so you won't keep taking to much advil. It's never good to take extra pill's to help you as it can lead to drug dependence.

I used to take Advil 4 at a time, two or three times a shift when I worked in retail and had to stand in one place for ten or twelve hours at a time. Not gonna kill you, might give you a bleeding ulcer if you do what I did, but one time isn't going to do anything.

To friend: Don't worry, she will be fine. Yes, she should have only taken the reccomended dosage but 4 advil will not kill her. I have taken 6 at a time before, and look, im still here. Calm down =)

Yes, you will be okay. She would really freak out then, if she knew that I take 5 of them at a time for my aches and pains, especially migraines, and cramps.
