I am adopted. I would not say that the child wants to find their bio parents because of something that their parents did to them or because they are mad at them for something. Its about knowing where you come from. Or medical history. I know that when I was pregnant with my daughters there were questions that I could not answer because of the fact I did not know. There is always the question why these people did not want me. But believe me that it has nothing to do with you. And there are some cases that the child really does not care about all of that. As long as there adopted parents have loved and cared for them. I think that it is a great thing to adopt children. I does take special people to adopt. It gives a child the opportunity to have better things in there lives instead of foster care or in a state home. If this is something that you want to do then I would do it. Do worry about what might happen in the future. Take one day at a time

I would imagine that there would be no need for a drug test under any circumstances, as a step toward your parents adopting another child -- but given the fact that you are 18, I wouldn't think it would be applicable, anyway.
Taking drugs isn't exactly the wisest life choice for you, however. While it might not effect the outcome of your parent's adoption, it can effect the outcome of your own life, and at 18, you should start becoming more concerned about your own path.

If you are living in the household, it depends on the state laws and agency. In some states, all adults (those 18 and over) in the household have to submit to a criminal background check and urinanalysis. All people in the household will also have to have medical clearances. So, it would be best to tell yor parents if you are concerned.

No, but there's a chance they may want to do a background check on anyone living in the house. (At least if its a state adoption they may.)

No, you don't have to take one. We adopted both of our children and I am the area rep for our adoption agency so I know you wouldn't have to take one. Is there a reason you are asking? Do you need to take one? I hope not!!!

Why are you doing drugs? if you are not doing drugs then it shouldn't matter right. So no need to sweat it.
