My friend insists he's taken SWAT team training courses ...
He's 15. I wouldn't think an elite authoritary unit would want to teach his/her secrets and knowledge to an adolescent. This guy also thinks that the Desert Eagle is "a gun any idiot can use and has no kick" ... I'm not sure what type of dg's he's used but the ones i've used are heavy, innacurate, and pack some kick in them.

I think you should ask this question in the law enforcement section, since SWAT (special weapons and tactics) units are a law enforcement entity, not military.

That said, SWAT officers are chosen from volunteers who are already police officers. They are usually required to have a minimum amount of service with the police force prior to applying for SWAT. They also undergo rigorous testing and evaluation to see whether they are suited for the position.

As SWAT training requires much time spent outside at the range, becoming familiar with various weapons, I know of no agency or even police explorers programs that would allow a 15 year old to participate. I think your friend is full of "little brown things like dogs leave".

The SWAT thing has already been answered. Anyone that tells you a .50 caliber handgun has no kick, is either someone I wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley, or someone that has no experience with firearms. I'm going to guess the latter in the case of your friend.

There are certain classes that actual SWAT members, who are employed by police departments take periodically to ensure that they keep-up their skills and learn new technology... Then there's "SWAT" classes that any gung-ho or wanna-be para-military "tool" can offer to any other "tools" who are interested. He may have taken one of those back-woods, separatist militia type courses... who knows.

No real SWAT associated class for officers would allow a 15 year old "tool" to participate in it. It's for the actual police SWAT team members to actually allow them to stay one step ahead of people who they may have to encounter one day... not to leak secrets to and train your friend.

Your friend is blowin smoke up your tailpipe. NO law enforcement agency in the US would allow a 15yo to go through any type of training that involved live fire.

S.W.A.T. are a Police Unit so why did you post your question in MILITARY?

Your "friend" is a nerd, kids of 15 do not do S.W.A.T. Classes.

Both of you seem to have to much time wasted on computer games.
