A St. Peter's Cross is an inverted Latin cross.

The origin of this symbol comes from belief that St. Peter was crucified upside down, as he felt he was unworthy to be crucified in the same manner that Christ died (upright).

An inverted cross has been the symbol of the Popes ever since.

Pope St. Peter was crucified upside down (at his request).

The Pope of today sits in the chair of Pope St. Peter as his successor.

The upside down cross symbolizes this.

Don't mark my words, but I always had the vague premonition that the people who are leading Christians today are actually the false prophets the Bible was talking about, and that many people are being mislead under a false type of Christianity.

I believe Christ only wanted to set an example of how we should live our lives if we wish to become enlightened and realize that we are God, NOT that we should establish churches and worship Christ as an idol. When he said, "The only way to the father is by me," I believe he truly meant "by a life like mine" and not literally "worship me."

Because of misinterpretations, many have become lost and think they are following the message of Christ when they are only following mistranslated dogmas that are leading them away from their true hearts. If people realized that they were God, then they would not want to have any place in their hearts for such terrible behaviors, as those things do not fit a god or enlightened being.

As for the inverted cross, it is said to symbolize Saint Peter, but to me, it symbolizes the perversion of the Christ's message in modern day "Christianity."

That is representing the cross St Peter was crucified on. He did not feel worthy of being crucified as Jesus was and requested to be crucified upside down

I dont follow the Pope .I follow Jesus Jesus saved me.One night I went in my room and said Jesus I am a sinner.Jesus I know You died on the cross for my sins, Please forgive my sins.Come into my heart Jesus. All of the sudden Jesus came into my heart and I felt so much peace and love I could hardly believe that I could be loved like that.I follow Jesus. And try to obey the Holy Spirit the best I can..............!

I have not read any reference to this anywhere, but my best guess is that Peter was crucified upside down

I think because this is how ST. Peter was martyred. He wanted to be crucified upside down so not to be equated with Jesus

one of the men in the bible was crucified up-side-down.
he asked for this because he said he couldn't die in the same manner jesus did (because jesus was god).
the romans still crucified him, they just did it up side down
