All dogs that are part Wolf are called Wolf Hybrids.
I have owned over 11 wolf hybrids in my short life. They are great dogs. What some may say about them being evil, crazy, untrainable, and so on, is just untrue. Its just an excuse that was made up by bad dog owners who have bought one, and had know idea about training and what not, and just blamed it all on the dog. If they had bought something like a Labrador or Golden Retriever, they would have most likely have had the same result in how bad their dog turned out.
Wolf Hybrids are wonderful, friendly, loyal and loving dogs, that people are scared of just because of made up myths and rumors.
I would trust my wolf hybrids with children of any age, they won't hurt anyone.
My Wolf Hybrids are half German Shepherd, and the puppy in my avatar is one of them.

There are a lot of different ways to tell by looks. Looks aren't always completely accurate though. I had a wolf hybrid (German Shepard mix) and he had large ears and extremely thick fur. It also depends on how much wolf is in that particular dog. If it's quite a bit, then it's pretty easy to tell. Behavior is also a way to tell, though again not really accurate. It wouldn't act like the breed standard behavior. Most are timid, shy and extremely protective. I have, however, seen an incredibly friendly wolf hybrid which seemed rather unique to me. If you posted a picture, I could help you out a lot easier! I forgot to mention that if the breeder you bought the dog from doesn't have any proof of it being a wolf mix, then it is most likely, as the person above me stated, a scam.

It's called a Wolf hybrid. Generally Wolf hybrids are made with a mix of a German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, and an Alaskan Malamute so the wolf hybrid won't be so wild. They classify each wolf hybrid with a percentage of how much wolf is in their heritage. The higher the percentage the more wild and aloof the dog will be.

Unfortunately people do breed Wolves with domestic dogs.
There are a few breeds of domestic dogs these breeders prefer to use as list above.
Wolves and Dogs should not be breed together!
First the correct term use to describe the animal should be simply a wolfdog. The name Hybrid means that it cannot reproduce and the wolfdog can.
Second there is no why to determine the amount of Wolf or Dog in any give litter or individual dog. As we all know a litter of puppies can very in color size and shape. With a mixed litter some will be more one breed than the other. Also
Some may look like one breed but has the other breed personality. More than one male can also impregnate a female dog in the same cycle. There is no way of putting a % to the wolfdog.
Lastly as stated above a wolfdog is very hard to train. Almost impossible to housebreak. The Wolfdog is not a very good guard dog as they rarely bark. They can be and often are miss understood animal because they run almost exclusively on instinct. Unlike domestic dog that can and have been breed for a specific task and trainability.
Here in New York Wolfdogs are illegal and require a special permit to own one and they are NOT give to the general public. Also here a Veterinarian can lose their license if they are found to be KNOWINGLY treating an unregestered wolfdog.
There are also breeders that sell their DOGS as Wolfdogs. If you have had a great wolfdog in the past it just might have been a real great DOG
I am a very big advocate for the Wolf and Dog. But not for a Wolfdog as the animal more times than not gives both dog breed and Wolf a bad name.

Wolves can breed with almost any domestic dog providing the circumstances are right.
There is no technical name given to these hybrids, except to say "wolf cross"
