for me...the disadvantages of anolg video editing was the trimming of videos in analog was not accurate unlike in digital the trimming on it was accurate to the fraction of seconds you can easily layout the videos.....but the disadvantages was the video resolution was reduced. unlke in analog the resolution was retained even edited

the cost of analog equipment capable of even simple cuts only editing is much more than a computer that has all the whiz bangs. When DV tape first came out, Sony and Panasonic each had a "professional" version that was deck to deck editing capable. Today all professionals use computer editing, making DVcam and DVCpro obsolete. Also the final product no longer is VHS tape, but either a digital file for a networked video server or DVD,
