OK, so its expensive and has no good games and the it lags behind ms and wii sales.
Dont forget consoles have relatively long product life spans, eg 5-6 years, and i feel it will take a while for game makers to fully take advantage of PS3 superiority
Firstly these consoles have had a year or so head start, as i remember 360 didnt have any must have titles for first few months. PS3 Games will come soon, pro evo being the first main titile, yes i know it will probably be on 360 aswell, but soon game makers will learn to produce games which maximise ps3 potential. Wii is just a fad, and in 1 years time will feel and play like a dated console. 360's best games will always look, feel and play like PC games. Remember wise investor anticpate the success of the things other people cant see being successful, and my bet is that the best long term investment will be a PS3, in 3 years time it will be the established console

Of course the ps3 isn't dead, it has sold 6 million consoles so far (360- 10 mil wii- 11 mil) which is pretty good actually, by the time Sony gets all it's top notch IP's in (ratchet and clank, killzone, Uncharted, gran turismo, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII, etc.) and when sony releases the 40 GB PS3 for $400, the ps3's sales will sky rocket.

Compared to the PS2, the PS3 has been somewhat of a disappointment. The PS2 sold like crazy when it launch because of the success of the PSX. People expected the same thing from the PS3 because of the PS2's success, but when the PS3 didn't sell like crazy, people considered it a disappointment. The PS2 in some ways hurt the PS3's sales. The PS3 is really competing not only against the 360 and Wii, but also the PS2. The PS2 is still selling rather well for a last gen system.

People keep forgetting that the 360 came out a year before the PS3, so of course, it has a lot more games than the PS3. Like you said, people forgot that the 360 didn't have that many good games the first few months after the launch. The really blockbuster game for the 360 didn't come out until almost a year later (Gears of War). The PS3 game line-up is better than the 360's line-up in the same period of time (from launch to 1 year later).

Another problem is that Sony failed to keep PS2 exclusives and make them PS3 exclusives, such as Devil May Cry and Grand Theft Auto. The only smart move that Sony made was to keep Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII PS3 exclusives. Sony might regret not making GTA a PS3 exclusive. Sony might also regret not paying Ubisoft the money needed to keep Assassin's Creed a PS3 exclusive or at least a time exclusive. Remember that Ubisoft announced that AC would be a PS3 game before it announced that it was also coming out for the 360.

I agree with you that the Wii is a fad because most developers still haven't found any innovative way to use the Wii-mote. It seems like every developer is using the Wii-mote either as a gun, a steering wheel, or a sword.

I think the PS3 sales will pick up significantly once MGS 4 and Final Fantasy XIII are released. Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted will also help the PS3's sales.

You gotta remember, the only place where 360 outsells PS3 is in the US. Everywhere else, especially Japan, 360 barely even registers.

The Wii isn't a fad, its just non-traditional. It's a toy, but it speaks to a niche market alot better than either of the other two consoles do. My mom has been telling me for years to stop playing video games...now she wants a Wii. I've been trying unsuccessfully to get my wife to play games with me for years...I bought her a Wii and now she's a "gamer".

The 360 is the top dog right now. Why anyone would support a console that might not work the next time its turned on, I can't tell. Despite the fact that MS charges big bucks for every little feature on the thing, its got the games and the support.

All the PS3 owners have is the satisfaction of buying the long-term champ. By next summer, there won't be a single argument left for Sony detractors.

I agree with you, I own a PS3 and I think that the PS3 has the best future out of all of the consoles. But there are some good games out for the PS3 right now: Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Resistance, Motorstorm, etc...

The PS3 was said to have a life cycle of at least 10 years, and I believe that is possible, because it will be probably 3 or 4 years before game developers unlock the full potential of the Playstation 3.

Also, even though the PS3 isn't selling the best right now, it has the best exclusive titles coming and there are more Sony fans than Xbox fans. The PS1 and PS2 sold over 100 million units each, the original Xbox sold 24 million units and the 360 has sold almost 12 million units. When you look at Sony's numbers, there are more people waiting on buying a PS3 than buying a 360.

I kind of disagree. The demand for Wiis is growing by the second. And you're right, the PS3 has no really bold, striking games that say, "Hey, this game really stands out". It's also too expensive. Sony better water down the price before they can ever have a success better than that of their PS2, Microsoft's XBOX 360, and Nintendo's dominant system, Wii. So far from what I've seen, Wii's already beaten the others in sales, and it looks like it always will till the next generation of consoles.

A lot of people said the same about PS2 too. I was doing some research on that. Graphs show, that PS3 now repeats PS2 story. First sales aren't that good (remember, it took some time for developers to settle with PS2 devkits too). With PS3 is going to be the same story (statistics don't lie :-), even a bit better, since most of developers used to work with PS2, so now they know more. Also Microsoft uses some bad PR technologies, such as "independent" ratings (which are, actually, placed on microsoft-influenced sources). What I don't understand, why PS PR crew works not in the best way - they can do much more for less money (I have some PR experience, so I know, what I'm talking about). They can launch even better PR activities in a lot of places and fields. I agree with you on 100% - that's why I own PS3.
Most of Xbox 360 games (this console is already working over the top of it's capabilities) end up on PC, so I'll play them anyhow, when PS3 games require much more powerful PCs with constant hardware upgrades. To pay 2000-3000$ for PC and live in constant fear of spending even more cash on miscellanious hardware or just buy one PS3 and forget about hardware for, let's say, 7-10 years (Sony officials announced this life span for PS3, since Sony invested much more money in PS3, than in PS2). They just need better PR, especially in PAL regions - it's a good market, but underdeveloped. Feel free to contact me.

i'm no longer in want or hostile to the 360 or PS3, yet I chosen the PS3 over the 360 for top right here motives: a million) different video games i quite favor to play are Gran Turismo, metal equipment sturdy, and the only top fable video games. 2) Reliability. i do not favor to take my opportunities and watch for my sport gadget to interrupt down. i do not care if it receives fastened for loose. 3) The Blu Ray is only an extra bonus, yet maximum major than it is the actual incontrovertible truth that i visit appreciate my video clips in both DVD or Blu Ray format even as my PS3 is genuinely quiet. The 360 sounds like a vacuum purifier. 4) picture sensible, both consoles are quite aggressive, and also you quite might want to be picky to assert that one seems way better than the different. the adjustments listed decrease than are negligible. have you ever performed metal equipment sturdy? instruct me an Xbox 360 sport that seems better than this. 5) enable's settle for it. The PS3 layout is stylish. The 360 feels like a toy. 6) My PS3 is nice how this is. i do not want to experience nickeled or dimed by utilizing having to improve my gadget by utilizing paying for better stuff to observe hi-def video clips. 7) The sixaxis feels better in my fingers than the 360 controller. i don't understand, it could be a count number of "flavor" 8) i could not care a lot less about on line gaming. I actual have acquaintances. 9) I actual have not began to satisfy a PS3 proprietor who regrets having offered this console. on the different hand, I actual have met some annoyed, indignant 360 vendors who've had to attend to fix it now, restoration it back, please. So, in a nutshell, this is a count number of selections. So, i'm no longer going to instruct you incorrect. The 360 is a effective gadget, besides the undeniable fact that the PS3 is my decision for the justifications pronounced above.

if u honestly think the wii is a fad, u must be a fool. its doing way too good to be a fad. it has plenty of games coming out that are going to make the top 10 list of 2007. the ps3 cant compete with the xbox considering the ps3 is almost exactly like an xbox with slightly better picture. anyone that is into videogames has an xbox and has no need for a ps3, its a waste of money t the current time. i will admit that sony and microsoft are both money hungry, but microsoft is atleast taking ppls money good. sony is out numbered more than 2:1 by the xbox, and 3:1 by the wii. its going to be a fine system, its just finding trouble keeping up with the wii and 360
