I was wondering how I can get my voice better. My parents wont allow me to do voice lessons, and I seriously suck, as can be seen here-

I have a weird voice, and I HATE it. As far as me messing up in some places - It was my first time singing the song all the way through....not to mention I have developed a new fear of my mic. I seem to sing better when It's outta sight. If someone could give me some advice on how to get rid of my stupid fear of the mic, that would be awesome! And, do you think there is any hope for me with singing?! It's something I REALLY enjoy doing....

I don't mean to sound mean and by all means pursue your dreams, but not everyone is meant to be a singer.

Not too bad. I have heard much worse. Always warm your voice up by singing something - try a musical scale like doh ray me fah so lah te doh for 5 minutes non stop.
Your trying to control the power of your voice too much. But, in places, it breaks through. You need to project your voice a little more. If your parents wont pay up for singing lessons, why not buy a singing lesson DVD from ebay or amazon? That will at least get you started out in the right direction.

practice, practice, lots of it. My husband started practing when he was 14. He practiced all the time. He is sooooooo good. I love to hear him sing. There is always hope when you want something enough.

I listened to it and don't think it is as bad like you say. I like your voice!! I think you can go as far as you want to depending upon how much time you spend practing wether or not you get lessons by a pro. Try practing with some good Elvis songs. They are hard to do and if you can master them you will be able to sing anything.

well. i've heard worse. still not that great as you realized. which is a good thing! at least you can tell its not very good... so your not tone deaf. with many musicians theres a strange phenomena about that red light... once its switched on, you choke. it happens to me when i record some guitar. it has to do with the fact that your focusing on it so hard that you just can't do it well. the only things that can fix this problem is TIME and with that time you must gain EXPERIENCE. The voice lessons are a MUST if you want to progress at this point since you haven't been able to do it on your own.

Notwithstanding some wavering pitch, you actually remind me of simultaneously Virgin/EMI and Reprise/Warner recording artist Enya; she does practically all her own vocal tracks on her albums (an extraordinary example being the half-pop, half-folk hit single "Orinoco Flow"--sorry but I don't have the Reprise single number). Shame that your parents forbid you to take vocal coaching; it could be a major help in your present state of development.

well your young and your voice will change some more. The best way to practice is to go beyond your normal range or limit so that you can expand your voice so that when u use it for normal range it will sound much better

Take chorus/singing classes in high school, and ask the teacher for help after every class/after school. She/he will probably be glad to help you!
