An 1080P HDTV is probably the best type of t.v. to play a PS3 on. I have a PS3, but I play it on a CRT T.V., because the CRT T.V. was a pretty new model, I get good picture on it.

I would get a HDTV, but I can't justify spending $500 + dollars for a T.V. I would rather take that money and save up for future PS3 game releases.

It works like that - 1080P LCD HDTV. The size has to be calculated like this - between you and the TV must be at least 3 diagonals of your TV. Otherwise your eyes will get tired faster and (if you use CRT TV) that isn't healthy due to electromagnetic field.
Just don't buy plasma ones - they burn out faster and they have memory effect (channels logos and long-time still pictures leave traces).

I would go with a 37" lcd hdtv. You are close enough to the action and have a great, high quality screen. If you want brand.....that's based on your preference....you can always go bigger and get more bang for your buck when you go bigger. That'd be my choice though.
