I officially ran out of all of my meds ( 1 blood pressure, 1 water pill, and 2 antidepressants) this morning and I'm a little bit nervous about going all the way till payday (next Monday) without.

They're generics so the doc doesn't have "freebies". I called my pharmacy and was told that they wouldn't be able to give me a weeks supply. "Insurance Companies don't allow that"??

Why not????

Legally pharmacies can't loan more than a 3 day supply to carry someone over, but usually at my job if the person tells us that they can't afford medication but need their medicine and will pick it up as soon as possible we can bend the rules a bit. I would suggest to tell the pharmacist that you are worried about going without your important medcation and promise to pick it up on monday and they may be able to help you out. Just be sincere and tell them your story.

Legally, in my state, you can give as much medication to hold you over the emergency period. However, most pharmacies will only give you a 3 day supply. I can also give you a partial fill of your medications. I can give you 7 of you 30 tablets.

I agree with Misty. Try appealing to the Pharmacist. One other thing you might consider is using whatever samples your doctor has. You may be taking generics but there's nothing wrong with name brands if you need them.

Try to be more careful and set aside money for co-pays for situations just like this one. I can understand running out of one prescription but all 3???
