Genuine good manners, which means real concern for the person that is directing it toward you. I once saw the extravagant Liberace being needled by another guest on a talk show. Liberace answered each pointed remark directed his way as if it was sincere, and the other looked like a complete fool. But the thing was, I think Liberace REALLY felt sorry for the jerk: that was what came across.
Faced with the nasty Bill O'Reilly as a guest on his show recently, I saw Jay Leno do the same thing. He acknowledged everything that O'Reilly said, however provocative or obnoxiously self-satisfied. Like most bullies, O'Reilly didn't know how to deal with plain (and fearless) good manners at all. But even if you are afraid, in a pinch just saying that you are out loud, quietly if you can, is often enough to change things: "You know, you're scaring me." It's amazing how saying the truth can bring back reality, which turns out to be a safer place.
A quote? "Arrogance consists of saying the truth without love."

Just keep on acting as you were before they start being the fountain of sarcasm. Always bugs people. Or you could (if they're asking a sarcastic question) answer back with a literal response. Then they get all twisted up in a knot trying to explain...hehe,works every time!

We must accept that we all have our weak moments, and some of them entail aggressive behaviour. If someone reacts to such an action with sarcasm, just say "Point well taken" and carry on with lesson learned. If the sarcasm is as a result of someone else's weak moment, a raised eyebrow should suffice. I think that we are all more inclined to forgive and forget than we ourselves realize.

A good swat in the teeth will usually take the starch out of sarcastic person. Try to use this ploy only when the recipient is smaller than you. For larger ones, you can always pee on their feet then run like the wind.

if you feel that the sarcasm is not appropriate, then you let it be known, through a grimace whatever.

By not responding to it. Or sometimes showing no response... as if you have not heard anything that person has said. Don't let it bother you. Let it roll right off your back! It kills 'em!

I find farting at the person with the sarcastic remark works and it's natural.

The following sentence usually does it for me:
"Scorn is a simpleton's refuge."
If, after that, your enemy keeps it up you say this: "Quit validating me, *** wipe."
