After hooking up my dvd player to my tv w/ the S Video, I don't see much of a difference in picture quality, I was expecting a major difference, is there really a benefit to using S Video?

S-video helps with colors. Unlike composite, it uses two wires, one for luma (grayscale) and one for color. With S-video, colors don't bleed as much to each other. It is true, that unless someone shows you the color bars, it is not easy to spot the differences, but after someone shows you composite video errors, you will notice them all the time!!
