This is what my vet recomends. It does work but if it does not rain enough where you are when you put it down make sure you water it in and keep animals off of it until it is dry totally.

Lowes and home depot carry it.

Remember you have to do the yard, the house, pet bedding and pets all the same day. Advantage or frontline for the pets at least long enough to break the flea cycle. Vacume often and toss the bag after each use so fleas do not hatch in it.

There is a product that places like home depot carries called Over and Out ant killer. It has the same active ingredient as frontline and will kill ants, fleas, and their eggs. Spread it all over your lawn. Its harmless to pets but I would wait a few hours after spreading it before you let the dogs roll around in the yard.

you may get a flea spray which you spray interior the carpet, and around the baseboards of each room, and around the door sills. even however, your superb wager is to get the flea drugs which you place on the canine's back between their shoulders (like Frontline's suitable Spot). it is going to at last kill off all the fleas in the canine's conventional territory (the two interior and out), yet you are able to save treating each month.

You can't really help it. Fleas are going to flourish outside no matter what you do. The only thing you can do for your dog is give it a flea collar and regular bathes to keep it flea-free.

Or move to a place where it's drier. I'm in the CA desert, and we don't get fleas :)

There are plenty of garden treatments available, as people have said. May I just add, if you keep you dog properly treated with something like Frontline, and treat your home, your dog will be safe from fleas.

I think you may be thinking of Diatomaceous Earth, which you can sprinkle around your property. It is safe if you do not breathe it while you're doing that (you need to wear a mask) and obviously you need to keep your dogs away while you're distributing it around. Sadly, it will also kill a lot of other things (earthworms, etc)

Frontline is a good idea.
Vacuum the house and furniture, wash all the bedding especially any bedding that the dog regularly sleeps on.
