then why don't they all move into tiny little houses that use solar energy, and stop flying around in their private jets? Makes since to practice what you preach, right?

frank, it's obviously a question...I thought question marks indicated this.

Dork, you completely missed the hypocrisy of this whole thing. They are saying that every little bit helps, yet you're saying that one little hybrid car isn't going to help. See the flaw in your logic?

Interestingly, I just got an email on this subject.

You can check this out on Snopes.com under "The Story of Two Houses."
http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp

House #1 A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South.

House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the abode of the "environmentalist" Al Gore.

HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas; it is the residence the of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

Because moving into a tiny little house doesnt help the environment. and how do u kno that al gore doesn't use solar panels? and assuming that he didnt, hes trying to fix the big problem. one freakin hybrid isnt going to stop global warming. informing the world about global warming and convincing millions of people to do their part and stimulating government talks about improving the environment does.

I suspect that answer has to do with the fact that most Celebrities are actors playing a part.

They are not expected to live like the character they are playing.

When these celebrities are acting as spokespersons on any subject, they are just acting a part.

In real life they behave very differently than the characters that they play in the media.

(And yes, I am including Al Gore as one of the actors playing a part)

some celebrities do try to make a difference and i dont believe the size of your house makes a difference the thing is how you heat it and the type of energy you use for it. Plus not many real celebrities fly in private jets unless they're like madonna or michael jackson or something... seriously, and instead of being on the computer complaining about people doing nothing about it shut down your computer (you're using non-renewable energy!) and go clean up the park.... sorry im just a little edgy today, dont take it personally haha.

How do you know he hasn't? He probably has an energy efficient house.

To try to educate people's mind like yours, Gore has to travel a lot, although it is true he doesn't have to go in a private jet, so minor point conceded.

The major point is that your country is responsible for 25% of the planet's emissions and you have to do something about it!

Well you need to understand the world. Celebrities appear to be our "role models" but to tell you the truth, they do those little commercials and stuff just to make money and make more fans. Some celebrities actually care but this world's people are cold. So you should know by now that the media is baloney.

See, Liberals have this wager going around to see what else they can doop the American people into believing and/or supporting. It's sad that people actually believe the lies that spew from Gore or anyone like him. Have a Liberal free day!

Shhhh...you can't criticize Al Gore for his hypocrisy. Don't you know he has good intentions and cares more than other Americans. We are supposed to stay quiet and kiss the feet of liberal icons!

worldwide warming from accumulation of CO2 grow to be predicted in 1896. I rather have a "New Scientist" mag (an English booklet) from 1989 with 2 articles approximately it. I knew approximately it interior the overdue Seventies. I rather have been interpreting approximately it on and stale ever on account that. I comprehend the physics in touch in a splash greater effective than generic element. that's a controversy of physics and chemistry, no longer politics.
